November 15th, 2008 All Day on the Water!

Air/Water Temp: 78/79
Wind: 5-10 Knots
Hello divers,

We had another full day on the water but this time it was gorgeous! No boat rescues today but we can only handle those every once in a while. We were joined by our friends Rob, Tony and Steve again and we added our friends Boyd and Brian into the mix. The wind has finally quit and the sun is out, now that is what we want! We decided to spend the morning on the Spiegel Grove. Brian made his first deep dives there which is quite a memory to add to the books. We had two great dives there. We saw Mr. Big the Goliath Grouper hanging around the bow in his usual spot and swam through some passageways on the ship. We had a nice lunch while we motored over to the Benwood Wreck. We had a fun dive there, we saw some big Groupers out hunting and some huge schools of Snappers and Grunts. For our Grand Finale we tied up at the South end of French Reef which is a our best spot for swim-throughs. There was a nurse Shark sighting and a huge Green Moray Eel that looked kinda hungry!

These are the days that we hope for everyday. Thanks to everyone for a great diving day!

November 14th, 2008 Big Seas, Barfing & Boat Rescues!!!

Air/Water Temp: 78/79 Brrrr

Wind: 20 Knots (We would not have gone out but we were dealing with some die hard divers and as it turns out we were meant to be hero's today)
Hello Pleasure Bloggers,

We awoke this morning knowing that something in the air was different. Today was an important day. Our divers Tony, Steve and Rob were headed out for a full day of diving and there was no two ways about it. The seas were big, the wind was howling and the Dramamine was pulsing through their veins. We ventured out to the Bibb Wreck first. As it turns out it was a beautiful day at about 100ft underwater! We had a great dive, covering the whole ship and taking I the amazing clear vista that is the Bibb. We pulled the hook and tied up to the Duane which we shared only with a small, 20ft fishing boat. As we arrived I quietly cursed the fishermen for being on "my" wreck. I'll get over it but I sure wish they wouldn't fish while we were diving. Rob hopped in with the divers to take some pictures and I was left alone on board to fill some tanks and watch bubbles. Out of the corner of my eye I see International Orange, the unforgettable color of Jim Buoy Life vests! The fishing boat has capsized and the three fishermen on board are swimming for their lives toward Pleasure Diver! I throw a lifeline to help them to safety and pull them one by one onto the swim step. Everyone is OK which is amazing and I am very glad for that. After a long Spanglish conversation we get Tow Boat US out to give them a hand. Another day aboard Pleasure Diver, another brave rescue. In the end Tony was the hero for making us all finish out the rest of the day while fighting through the barfing and rouge waves to complete our four dive day. We are all stronger because of you, Tony. Steve and Rob both get medals of honor for being right there with the rest of us in pushing through the day.

Tomorrow is another day and the forecast looks bright. Maybe we can save some more lives?

Thanks gentlemen, we will see you bright and early......try skipping the Waffle House this time!

November 5th-6th, 2008 Pleasure Diver Goes to Primetime!

Air/Water Temp: 78/79
Wind: 10-15 Knots
Dear Pleasure Divers,

We are trying not to let this go to our heads but we had some great cameramen, Dennis and Ed, on board over the past few days doing some underwater filming for CBS! They are putting together some footage for an upcoming pilot for a reality TV show. Just what we need, another Reality Show, right!? They brought a TON of stuff but that is what it takes to get the really fancy shots I guess.

We hope that we helped out in getting the footage they need to get a successful show going!

Thanks guys and we hope to have you back soon,

November 4th, 2008 Aggressor friends ahoy!

Air/Water Temp: 79/80 (Our computer says 80 but we don't believe it!)
Wind: 5-10 Knots

Hello again friends,

Today we were joined by two ex-Aggressor employees, which basically makes us related. We headed out on a beautiful Tuesday to do a Double Dip on the Spiegel Grove. The conditions were great and the best part is that we had the whole place to ourselves for the day! Awesome! Christopher and Suzanne joined us for the trip. Chris was after some great photographs to add to his already amazing collection. Check out http://www.aquaexposure.com/ for a look at his inspiring shots.

Thanks guys, it was great to have you aboard to reminisce and tell Aggressor stories!

Air/Water Temp: 78/79
Wind: 10 Knots

Hi there Pleasure Divers,

The wind finally let up a little and we headed out for some snorkeling and diving on the Benwood and French Reef. We were joined by Laura, Billy, Chris and Jack. It turned out to be a gorgeous day and we had the Ben wood Wreck all to ourselves. We found a cleverly disguised Scorpionfish, some large Spadefish and some great schools of Goatfish. French Reef was nice and clear today so Laura could easily see the reef from the surface where she poked her head in. The divers explored some great swim-throughs, found a Nurse Shark resting under a ledge and a large school of Trevalys with a Nassau Grouper swimming among them.

All in all a great day with some sunshine and calm seas.

Thanks to everyone and come join us again soon! Check out the link below for all the pictures from your charter.

Happy Halloween from Pleasure Diver!!!

Happy Halloween everyone! Rob decided to be Dinosaurs this year so we cut up our Yoga Mat and found some left over curtains and went to town. Here is the outcome! We had a fun night and Kiddo fell in love with a dog dressed as a Lion.

Hi Pleasure Divers,

We tried diving today with our Russian friends but the weather just wouldn't allow it. We made a nice trip out to French Reef but it was just to rough. Looks like the weather Gods wanted us to be safe and sound at the dock for Halloween.
Thanks for diving with us guys and we hope to see you again soon, hopefully for a trip to the Bahamas!

October 30th, 2008 Diving Friends from Russia

Air/Water Temp: 70/78 Brrrrrr!!!!
Wind: 15-20 Knots

Hello Pleasure Bloggers,

We headed out to the reef today to get some much needed diving in. Max, Sasha, Arkadiy and Yuliya came along with us for the ride. The weather has not been cooperating with us at all this year but we went out to give it a try anyways. We made our first stop at Molasses Reef. The divers got a great critter show right off the bat. There were Spotted Eagle Rays, a Green Sea Turtle, a Nurse Shark, a Green Moray and tons of big Barracuda. It was quit the way to start the day. The wind picked up a little so we headed down to Pickles Reef to check things out there. We dove on Snapper Ledge where the group saw more Nurse Sharks and ton of schooling Yellow Snappers. Max finished up the day with two quick dives to fill up all the space on his memory card.

Thanks for a fun day,
