July 30th, 2008 Mini Season Has Arrived!

Air/Water Temp: 84/86 Hot!

Wind: None....Hot!

Hello Pleasure Bloggers,

Today was day #1 of The Lobster Mini Season. It was awesome! We had a bunch of fun people join us and at the end of the day we came in with Lobsters Total! We started our day with Roy, Hollie, Greg, Kayla, Jeanne and Bill. We all set out early to search for the choice Lobsters of the Season. Jeanne and Bill found the first keeper and we had a Tag Team effort on one for Greg and Roy. Everyone had lobster fever and decided to come back tomorrow and give it another go. Our afternoon group included Papa Steve, Molly, Amanda and Bradley from Colorado. this was their first go at Lobster Hunting and they headed out with great enthusiasm. The girls brought in a keeper right off the bat and we found one other good sized bug later. We saw so many other fun creatures out there that it was hard to focus on the hunt. We saw a baby Sea Turtle, a Giant Barracuda and a Huge Crab! We will see everyone again tomorrow and anyone else that would like to join in, for more Lobster fun.

Thanks everyone!

July 29th, 2009 The Pohl Family Take 2

Air/Water Temp: 82/85

Wind: 7 knots

Greetings Divers,

We welcomed back the Pohl Family today for a lovely 10AM Charter. We headed for Molasses Reefs Fire Coral Cave. Aja hopped in and gave everyone the grand tour. There was a little bit of current but it was a good workout and we all had brownies when we came up. We saw some monstrous Spadefish and some Permits came through is a big school. We took a short trip to Post Reef and relaxed with some tunes on our surface interval. Just when hopes of seeing a shark seemed to be squashed a little Grey Reef shark cruised in to check the group out. All in all a great day on and in the water. When we got back to the dock and thought the show was over a little Nurse Shark and two huge Sting Rays swam under the boat! Thanks for the good critter karma Pohl Family!

July 28th, 2008 The Pohl Family Vacation

Air/Water Temp: 83/85

Wind: 10-15 knots (hopefully dying down)

Hi there Bloggers,

Today we were joined by the Pohl Family from Texas. They are at the end of a long road trip so hopefully this will be a nice pit-stop. We gathered the family of five and headed for French Reef. We spotted some Jawfish which are fun to watch and there was a great assortment of Grouper and Snook out too. There are only a few Minnows left in the cave but the big fish were still there picking them off. The family is off to play with the Dolphins today and they are coming back tomorrow to see what Molasses Reef has in store.

Thanks for a fun day and will see you again in the morning,

July 27th, 2008 The Missing Dive Skin

Air/Water Temp: 83/85

Wind: 10 knots

Aloha Pleasure Divers,

It was a gorgeous Sunday morning and we headed out to Molasses Reef for some Reef Therapy. We had a great dive at Permit Ledge, there was a little current running but it was well worth the workout. We saw a flock of Eagle Rays, a Nurse Shark and some really big Barracuda riding the current. After Dive one we headed up the reef in search of the missing dive skin! We pulled up next to another dive boat that had some of our guests from the day before and low and behold they had the missing dive skin! What are the odds?! You are a lucky guy Doug! Our divers enjoyed one more dive on Molasses and enjoyed a nice cruise back in to Port Largo on the bow.

Thanks everyone! We love it when we get to dive!

July 26, 2008 A Whole lot of French

Air/Water Temp: 85/85

Weather- Just Brilliant!

Hi again divers,

Another full day of diving fun. Maybe the best weather of the summer! Scott, Kelly, LeaAnn and Frank joined Bill and Forrest from yesterday for a beautiful morning. Forrest was feeling much better today so he got to really appreciate the great diving we have here. We spent the morning at French Reef. We visited the Minnow Caves and cruised through some nice swim-throughs. Their was a skeleton of some sort in one of the swim-throughs that added a little extra thrill. For the afternoon we welcomed Doug, Stacy, Sharon and Emil. We set out for the Benwood Wreck, it was a bit crowded so next time we will make sure to head to the Benwood for the 2nd stop. Our second dive was at French Reef where the group did some exploring. They found the Minnow Cave as well where all of the big Snook and Grouper were hiding.

Thanks for a fun day folks,

Thanks to everyone for a great day and

July 25, 2008 A Squall, Rainbow and Fun

Breezy, some clouds.

88 topside, 85 in the water.

Greetings from beautiful Key Largo.

We were greeted by a drenching squall as we left the harbor, however it passed before we reached our first stop. Our reward for driving on through the drenching was a full rainbow over Key Largo. We had the Boys from Georgia again this morning to continue their underwater Safari. Once again, our hunters had to protect their catch from a menacing Nurse Shark. A full fish cooler at the end of the morning spoke to their prowess with the spear though. Our afternoon group welcomed Bill and Forrest along with the return of our new friends from New Jersey, Brett and Lisa, with Liz and John from New York, continuing their Scuba adventure. We went to Molasses Reef, Permit Ledge. This sight never fails to deliver big animals. A very large Grey Reef shark swam circles to entertain us and Aja introduced everyone to Bandit, the Colossal Grouper. For the second dive we went to explore Sign Post Reef, just north of Molasses. Lots of fish every where and some lobsters to get us excited about the up coming lobster season!

Thanks for diving with us today, we hope to see you again soon!

July 24th, 2008 Be a Man Day

Air/Water Temp: 82/84
Wind: Dead Calm.....soooo nice!

Dear Bloggers,

We had another amazing day on the Reefs of Key Largo. Today was all about hunting. We took Blake, Lamar, Trey, Dane and Chad out for a day of Spearfishing. We loaded up the boat with lots of ice for the catch and of course all the Spearguns you could ever want. We headed outside of the Park where the fishing areas are and picked a lucky spot. The guys headed off in pursuit of their catch. I guess the sharks knew what was going on because as soon as the guys had some good fish bagged the sharks came in to collect. They only made of with a few of the fish but the guys got a fun close encounter. We saw a few Porpoise and Turtles wile we were out cruising around too. What a great day to be out on the water.....and we scored dinner too!

Thanks guys, see you bright and early!

July 23rd, 2008 Epic Day @ The Benwood & French Reef

Air/Water Temp: 83/85

Wind: Nada (None)

Hi divers,

We had another great day today. The good weather just came late this year....at least it is here! Today Elizabeth and John joined us again along with our good friends Albert & Leslie. We went out at the very civilized hour of 10AM and headed for the Benwood Wreck. We had the place to ourselves and the fish were everywhere! There were some really big Spadefish out cruising and we saw a very cooperative Spotted Moray. We took a short motor down to French Reef for Dive 2 where we visited the Minnow Cave! They were there in all of their glory, hiding Snook and Groupers in the cave, if you swim through the school of Minnows you can come face first with a really big fish. We also saw a few huge Sea Turtles on the trip back in.

Thanks to all of our friends for joining us today! It was a Pleasure having you.

Air/Water Temp: 83/85

Wind: 5 knots (beautiful!)

Hi there Pleasure Bloggers,

We had an amazing day out at Molasses Reef today! Elizabeth, John, Brett, Lisa and Mike joined us for the trip. We started at the South end of the Reef where Elizabeth and John had there firsts dives since their certification dives.....they seemed very pleased! We spotted a Nurse Shark right off the bat and then were kept company by some big Permits and a very curious Spotted Eagle Ray. We headed up to the North end of the Reef where we dove the Winch Hole. There was another Eagle Ray sighting and some little tiny Pederson Cleaner Shrimp spotted cleaning some Snappers. Days like this make you want to do it over and over again. I'm sure the Brett would if he could!

July 19th, 2008 Take Your Daughters to the Reef Day

Air/Water Temp: 84/85 (Toasty)

Wind: 10-15 knots

Greetings from Key Largo,

This morning we headed out on a snorkel adventure! We had Todd and his two daughters Margot and Claire with us on the girls first Key Snorkel Experience. The wind didn't behave very well today so we check out Molasses Reef and then decided on a short dip at French Reef. There were lots of fish for their viewing pleasure and they got the hang of their new fins. We cruised back in to White Banks for our second stop and hopped in. We saw a few Eagle Rays and some big Jacks swim by. Just as we were about to leave we had a Ray breach right by the boat which made a great finale to the day.

Thanks for coming out with us today. See you again soon!

July 15th, 2008 Coral Research Day

Air/Water Temp: 82/83 (a.k.a. no suit necessary)
Wind: 15-20 knots

Today Fitz, Iris, David, Robert and Christine joined us for a day of Coral Research off of Key Largo. We headed for Molasses Reef first thing and found a ripping current so we headed north to French Reef where we were pleasantly surprised by great conditions. We had an Eagle Ray fly by and some schooling Jacks. We finished off the day with a shallow fun dive at White Banks just to make sure that none of our air went to waste. The Coral was researched and the day was a success. Thanks for diving with us and come back soon!
