February 22nd 2009 Kids Dive Half Price Until 18..

Hi again from your favorite charter boat in the Keys.
This morning we have the Moritz family with Amanda and Edy finishing their Open Water Cert..
Today is stellar. That pesky current has dissapated and the wind is calm.
The girls dive right in, anxious to be done with the skills and just be scuba divers.
Kids are surprising. They seem to pick up skills and confidence faster than adults sometimes.
The visibility is crystal for French reef today and everyone enjoys swimming together and we find a Sting ray resting on the bottom and the fish are schooling about enjoying the great conditions. Great morning. Congradulations Amanda and Edy. Now the whole family can dive together. Awesome!!
Remember folks, if your kids get certified with us they will dive for half price until their 18th birthday!!!

On the afternoon charter we had the pleasure of meeting Robb and Tina from Phili..
Tina was certified last August and they came down to the Keys to ecscape the cold for a few days
and let Tina enjoy diving for fun. We headed to the Beenwood wreck to take advantage of this great weather before the wind comes back tommarrow. Robb and Tina went off on their own and had a visit from the giant barracuda that's been hanging out their. We went over to nearby French reef and enjoyed just great conditions.

See you all soon.

February 21 2009 Aquatics Again & New Divers...

We're getting alot of pleasure this weekend as the weather is being very good to us!

The gang from Ohio's Aquatic Adventures dive shop are back at it early this morning.

Only a couple of skills left to practice. We headed to the Benwood wreck to expand their
ocean experience and let them get a good look at the super large barracuda that's been hanging around lately. There was a little bit of current to add to the challenge but it didn't slow Sammer down! Next we headed over to French reef for the graduation dive and just let everyone enjoy the beauty of the ocean and the freedom of scuba diving. Congradulations new divers.

On the afternoon charter we had more new students. This time 2 young ladies, Amanda 15 and Edy 12 were ready for their first ocean experience. They picked up the scuba skills quickly yesterday in the pool with instructor Jason. With no fear they strided right in and completed their skills with mom and dad watching. We enjoyed 2 nice dives even though the current picked up and became a little challenging. Dad decided to visit our friends over on the Tropical Adventure boat. It was a great day and the girls did awesome!

February 20th 2009 Aquatic Adventures Arrives..

Hello from Key Largo,
Water temp. 69*
Air Temp. 77*
Gently Breeze!!

This weekend we welcome the gang from Aquatic Adventures of Hilliard, Ohio.
If you're in the Ohio area this is the shop to go to. State of the art facility and top notch instruction. Instructor Clyde brought a few new students for their first ocean experience.
Kelsey, Nathan, Anthony along with Dr. Sammer and Randy picked a great weekend.
The weather was simply glorious today. We headed to Molasses reef. After some skill practice we went for a swim around Eagle ray alley. The first timers got an eye full of Keys reef life.
Remember your first time down on the reef? Next we moved to the south end of "Mo" for the second dive. A few more skills and off we went for our second swim. The group saw some great schools of fish and even saw the ellusive "Mr. Big" the monster grouper. We see all levels of divers on our boat and we can tell who had good instruction and those that probably didn't.
This group of students definetly were recieving the best of instruction. We really appreciated the organization and courtesy shown to us by this group. Thanks gang!

February 19th 2009 Dive & Snorkel Family Day

.

Pleasure Diver enjoys taking families out. It's nice to see families play together and the kids take to the water.
Today the Jaeckel family from NJ joined us.
Today the water was on the rough side for the little one so Kiddo kept her company and tried to make her feel better. Everyone else got in the water and enjoyed the day. Mom and dad went diving and the girls followed on the surface. We visited the Benwood wreck and went lobster hunting. We found one of legal size but he defended his fortress and we came up empty. Next we went to White Banks and found a Sting ray resting in the sand right under the boat.
So remember, Pleasure Diver can customize your day on the water just the way you want!

February 15th 2009 Welcome Liz

Hi Divers,

Today we took Liz out to complete her Open Water Cert. ! Welcome to the Scuba Family. Although there was some current to deal with, Liz was a trooper and did her skills flawlessly. Her brother in law, Bob was there to cheer her on. Now he has a dive buddy in the family!
Thanks for sharing your first dive experience with us Liz.

February 14th 2009 Love of the Water...

Air Temp 81*

Water Temp 69*

Wind CALM!!

The best day in a long time!! Sunny, calm and here we are sitting over the Spiegel Grove wreck. John and Joan have the boat all to them selves and we're going to double dip the wreck. On the first dive we cover the bow and part of the bridge area and get buzzed by several Travally out hunting. There's the typical current on the ship today so we move the boat further down the wreck for dive 2. From here we can check out the massive cranes used for cargo and we find a couple of large groupers and Queen angelfish. Great time on the Grove. We head in to the dock to pick up the afternoon guests. We pick up David and his son Cameron along with Liz, who's doing her open water cert. with instructor Jason. Off to Mollasses Reef. Still a little current but you can see all the way to the bottom from the bridge! A nice dive with the Permitt fish, a ray and the giant grouper. We move further down the reef and we're able to get out of the current. The barracuda come by for a visit and we spot a baby turtle stick his head out of the water to look around. A nice, nice day! See you soon.

February 13th 2009 Finally, back out...

Hello from the best diving in Florida. This is why I live in the Keys. Calm seas, warm air and meeting nice people.Today John and Joan are here from Vermont to dive with us the next few days.We decide to start with a couple of easy sites to shake the rust off. First stop is the wreck of the Benwood. Sunk in 1942 in a collision, the Benwood is a great shallow dive with a lot of life.We cruise around the bow and find a Devil scorpion fish, a couple of lizard fish and a huge Blue Parrot fish. Schools of snappers and grunts hover over the deck and the barracuda keep an eye on us. We next went to French Reef and enjoyed the company of a turtle. Ahh times are good, so come for a visit.

Hey everyone, back on the water finally. We have had some fun visitors to the boat while hanging out waiting for the weather to settle down. Marty the Manatee is a good friend of Aja's who comes to visit occasionally. Today though Todd, Shirley, Alex and Ashley joinned us for some water fun. The guys did a dive and the girls kept watch over them on snorkel. There were 3 and 4 foot waves giving the girls a little challenge on the surface but the sun was shinning and the breeze was warm. We were told a surprise was in storred for Ashley the next day in Key West as Alex was going to propose marriage. Good Luck Alex!

Hope to see you all down here soon.

January 29th, 2009 Family Fun Time

Air Temp. 77*

Water Temp. 68*

Wind 10kt ESE

Hello from Key Largo,

Today was just a real nice day on the water. We had a great, friendly family from Denmark come out for a snorkel. The Boch family with mom and dad, grandma and grandpa and son Alex were full of enthusiasm. When you live in Denmark you don't see the sun very much and you certainly don't go in the water! Though a bit challenged by swimming, they jumped right in and headed for the reef. The snappers, parrot fish and Queen Angel fish showed off for the family and then a large barracuda gave everyone a bit of a scare!:) Everyone was happy to soke up the sun today and enjoy the warm Florida winter. So come on down for a visit!
